Everybody has their own Expanded Universe characters right? Let me say right off that this one could upset some die hard fans because 1) pink lightsaber and 2) a Dark Jedi. So if you fall into the category of SW fans that are upset by these things, you are officially crazy. Hope you like the pic anyway!

These star-crossed lovers are destined to end in tragedy as assuredly as Anakin and Padme. On the left is Jedi Knight, Pondreece Trello, and on the right is the rebellious Dark Jedi, Zar Valen. Feelings stirred as the two became fast friends while in Jedi training, but such emotional attachments are of course forbidden. As Zar grew he began to question the judgment of the Order, especially their commitment to Supreme Chancellor Palpatine (for whom he had an inexplicable "bad feeling"). Zar and Pondreece's secret romance ended the night before they were to be knighted when she told Zar that she could no longer continue their relationship in good conscience. Broken hearted, Zar Valen left Coruscant and the Order to strike out on his own, while Pondreece stayed to become a Jedi Knight. When the Clone Wars broke out, fate intervened to bring them together again as Pondreece and Zar found themselves on different sides of the battle. Once located, the Jedi Council instructed Pondreece Trello to track down her one-time friend and bring him back to the Order to face judgment. Will she succeed or will Zar be drawn to the Sith? What fate awaits these tragic lovers?

I'm pretty happy with the final product. I sketched these characters out back while waiting for the run-up to Episode Three. After the Clone Wars cartoon and getting to see George Lucas at Celebration 3, I was pretty excited for the last movie so this is my own little Star Wars story I came up with. I figured now that the Clone Wars will be back front and center it was as good a time as any to finally do a piece featuring them.
