The Invaders

The coolest Golden Age team to never technically exist! Okay there was the All-Winners Squad way back when, but the Invaders were retroactively introduced in 1969 by Roy Thomas and Sal Buscema. I remember getting my first Invaders comic as a kid in one of those collector pack bundles from the Sears catalog and thought they were pretty rad. I put Captain America, Bucky, and Sub-Mariner in their early costumes here and Human Torch is just still a guy on fire.

I looked at a lot of Golden Age covers for reference so it's a real mix of influences from those artists, but there's probably more Kirby in there than anyone else.
